Personality: To start, Belle is stubborn. She refuses to allow herself to be pushed around, having seen women be the serving wenches to men all her life. Her stubborness comes across as abrasive, but it's a defense mechanism. She's intelligent, determined and kind, but insults stick like hot side-walk-gum to a new shoe. And the insults tack themselves to her insecurity.
Seems our freedom's up against the ropes.

Family: ________ Jones, _________ Jones (Her two sisters)
History:
The youngest of three children, Isabelle grew up in Crater City. Her mother- a frail woman from the start -died just after Belle's birth. Their father, a small and portly man, did what he could to scrape by a worth while life for his three daughters, traveling often to sell wares in other towns who would pay more.
Despite beign essentially raised by her older sisters, Belle grew to be very different from them. While they craved money and power, all she wanted was an adventure. Her life was routine and had lost all the childhood magic bythe time she was old enough to go to school. She had to learn to be tough, fighting to survive in the streets of Crater City. Despite the difficulties with other people, she was a straight A student, and loved to read.
High school was different, by the time she got there, Belle was incharge. Her slim figure was hidden by thick denim jeans, rough old sneakers, and a heavy looking jacket that was just slightly too big. People left her alone, allowing her to spend her time pressed into her books and retaining her straight A average.
During her sophomore year, her father struck ill incredibly quickly. He was diagnossed with tuberculosis. That year, the girls all spent a lot of time at home, trying to take care of him. In the middle of the year, he died. Now orphaned, the girls stuck together, getting menial jobs locally, scraping together an existance.
Now eighteen, Belle has a scholarship to the local college, and she full well intends to take it. Because of her father's untimely death, however, she began dreaming of a fantasy world- one that's hardly a fantasy. There, in the Vered Vally of Elysia, she was trapped in a castle with a mighty beast. He was strong and fearsome, but also gentle and kind, with a temper as violent as a windstorm. Every night in her dreams, she visits this magical place, where her father is alive but kept from her.
Roleplay sample:
It was early, almost too early, and yet... she was awake. Pacing the halls, Belle moved as quietly as she could, so she wouldn't disturb the beast. With a soft sigh, she moved to the window. It was midsummer, but the sun wouldn't rise for another hour or so at least. Tip-toing quietly down the hallway, she made her way to the entrance hall, slipping out the heavy oak door.
She moved swiftly through the courtyard, siddling pastthe iron gates and skipping into the tall field of flowers and grass. It was her sanctuary, and she could only go alone when the beast slept. With a second sigh, she knelt amongst the wild flowers, gently plucking the petals from a daisy. Her mind was not at rest here. A soft breeze carried the petals away from her, dancing and twirling in the light of the full moon. The sight caused the faintest of smiles to brim on the lips of the bookish girl.
She stretched her legs out infront of her, the white cotton dress catching light from the moon as well. Resting back on her arms, Belle looked over the field. "It's so peaceful here..." she murmurs softly to herself. She hummed quietly, closing her eyes.
The gentle sounds of the night dulled Belle into a gentle doze. Images of a worn house, ratty clothes, disgusting streets and lots of gore held fuzzy in her almost dreams. She shook herself, not ready to return to that place, that horrid, putrid place. Her life here, in the Vered Valley of Elysia, was wonderful- if you didn't count her fear of the beast she resided with. His temper is what scared her most, everything else she could handle.
She sighed, thinking of him. He really was sweet, when he wanted to be. But the smallest things could turn him angry. Pressing her palms to her eyes, Belle shook her head. It was confusing, trying to figure him out. She stood, moving back toward the castle. It would be dawn soon, and she would be expected to be at breakfast, dressed properly and available to be seen.
Slipping back through the iron bars of the gate, the young woman plodded quietly back the way she came, easing through the front door, and tip-toing along to the room she is graciously allowed to reside in. She pulled the nightgown over head, gathered her dress and whatnot for the day, and meandered to the bathroom to shower for the day.
